Promotion of rural innovations its documentation, modification, its fine tuning and popularisation is a specific strategy followed by Peermade Development Society. More than 60 rural innovations were recognised by National Innovation Foundation , IARI etc. Major problem of such innovators is that they are not equipped for developing an enterprise with their products. Technical and financial support of our team could implement such programmes. Some notable enterprises include the following
(1) Kumpukkal Pepper variety recognised by NIF and disseminated by PDS through i‐STED, TSP, FAO.
(2) Energy efficient chulah developed by MrJayaprakash and popularised by PDS through
UNDP and KKS BMZ
(3) Pepper thresher innovated by PK Ravi
(4) Cardamom washing machine developed by NJ Thomas
(5) Plant varieties

  • Employment opportunities : 40
  • Direct beneficiaries : 100 families
  • Indirect beneficiaries : 1500+ famers in the region
